Suspect arrested after allegedly threatening man

Advertiser Staff

Police arrested a 40-year-old Lualualei man on Sunday on suspicion of weapons and other charges after a handgun allegedly fell out of his clothing while he was scuffling with a police officer Saturday night.

Patrol officers were sent about 8 p.m. Saturday to a home on Ho'okele Street in response to a report of an argument involving a handgun. They found two men arguing and were told by witnesses that one of the men had threatened the other with an ax, and then a handgun.

One of the officers approached the man who was said to have threatened the other man. They scuffled, and began scuffling with him when a handgun fell to the ground.

The man was arrested on suspicion of two counts of first-degree terroristic threatening, one count of harassing a law enforcement officer and one count of failing to properly store a firearm.
