Recycling at Kekaha Landfill to be suspended

Advertiser Staff

Construction activity at the Kekaha Landfill on Kaua'i will force the recycling programs at the landfill to be suspended through April 9.

Kaua'i County officials said that during this period, green waste, appliances, scrap metal, scrap tires and recyclables for the Kaua'i Recycles Drop Bin program will not be accepted.

Residents can take those items to the Hanapēpē transfer station or any other transfer station on the island. The closest alternative Kaua'i Recycles Drop Bin site is at Waimea Canyon Park.

For more information, visit www.kauai.gov/recycling or call the Recycling Office at 241-4841.
