A Punahou School seventh-grader will be featured with first lady Michelle Obama tomorrow morning as part of a Let's Move! town hall on C-SPAN.

The broadcast begins at 5 a.m., Hawaii time, and can be seen on Oceanic Channel 48.

Matthew Shimura won first place in the middle school category of C-SPAN's StudentCam competition, in which kids produce and enter 5- to 8-minute documentaries on a political topic.

Shimura's video "Childhood Obesity" beat out more than 1,000 entries.

Childhood obesity has become the first lady's priority project and she has launched a nationwide effort to encourage healthier eating and more exercise for American children.

The centerpiece of the initiative has been creation of the Let's Move! campaign. Its Web site www.letsmove.gov provides information and support for parents and kids.
