Flash flood warning issued for Windward Oahu

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for Kahaluu and neighboring areas until at least 10:30 p.m.

At 7:22 p.m., weather radar showed a nearly stationary area of heavy rain near Kahaluu.

Other areas covered by the warning include Punaluu, Waiahole, Waikane, Laie, Kahuku and Hauula.

A flash flood warning means flash flooding is imminent or taking place in streams, roads and low-lying areas.

People should take precautions and move to higher ground. Peoplel should not try to cross fast-flowing or rising water in a vehicle or on foot.
