The National Weather Service has extended a flood advisory for the Island of Kauai until 4:30 p.m. today.

At 12:40 p.m. a spotter reported heavy rain was occurring in the Wailua area of Kauai. Radar images and rain gages also indicate heavy rain was falling across much of the island.

Earlier this morning, the weather service lifted an overnight flash-flood warning for Oahu.

More rain is forecast for tonight, and the weather service says it could be heavy at times.

Numerous showers are forecast after midnight.

The soggy weather will continue through the weekend, forecasters said.

A flash flood watch also remains in effect for all Hawaiian Islands through 7 a.m. Thursday.
