A 45-year-old Ewa Beach man was killed Wednesday night in a motorcycle crash in Waipahu.

Police said the man was an active-duty soldier.

The crash happened shortly before 10 p.m.

Police said the man was on the east-bound off-ramp to Farrington Highway from Fort Weaver Road when he lost control of his Kawasaki VX6R. The motorcycle came to rest on Farrington Highway.

The man was in critical condition when paramedics took him to Hawaii Medical Center West, where he died.

Police said no other vehicles were involved and that speed might have been a factor in the crash. They said the man was not wearing a helmet.

Police have not determined if alcohol or drugs were involved.
