A body found on Kauai today above Secret Falls is thought to be that of a missing Utah man.

Kaua'i police along with personnel from the Honolulu Police Department Special Services Division, two search dogs and their handlers and a supervisor began searching at around 8 this morning for Ryan Soper, a 26-year-old Orem man who went missing in Wailua Valley last Thursday.

Police have tentatively identified him as Soper based on the clothing description given by family members.

During a hike last Thursday, Soper fell from a tree and landed on his in-laws, breaking his mother-in-law's ankle, the Salt Lake Tribune reported.

Soper's head and shoulders landed against a rock. While the group attended to his mother-in-law, Soper walked off and has not been seen since.

Amie Soper told the Tribune that her husband may have suffered a concussion in the fall but disregarded it because he had had a headache before the hike.

Soper was described as 5 feet 10 and about 240 pounds. He has short blond hair, blue eyes and a fair complexion.

He was wearing a black Under Armor shirt with long sleeves and a pair of black and white board shorts.
