Hawai'i resumes Western Athletic Conference baseball play with a four-game series beginning today against Louisiana Tech in Ruston, La.

Game time is 1 p.m., HST, and will be broadcast on ESPN 1420 AM.

The Rainbows (19-18 overall, 2-6 WAC) need to sweep to even their conference record or take 3 of 4 to square their WAC record on this road trip that started with dropping 3 of 4 at Sacramento State.

Unlike other WAC series, this one does not have a doubleheader. Instead the series is spread over four days. This is allowable if the traveling team has back-to-back road series, as is the case with UH.

The Bulldogs (19-16, 4-4) are coming off a split against Fresno State, which won 3 of 4 from UH.

Hawai'i will start Josh Slaats today and Sam Spangler tomorrow. Saturday's and Sunday's starters have yet to be determined.

The Rainbows will have 25 available players, one fewer than allowed because of the shoulder injury to outfielder Christian Johnson, who was sent home Monday to have an MRI. Also, shortstop Greg Garcia sustained a leg injury in the Sacramento State series. Jesse Moore started at shortstop Tuesday in UH's 5-2 win at Centenary.

"We'll just kind of wait and see," UH coach Mike Trapasso said.

The Bulldogs average 8.5 runs per game and have a team batting average of .332. Outfielder Devon Dageford leads the team with 10 homers and 35 RBIs and is batting .338.
