Hawaii governor in California to appear on panel
HONOLULU — Gov. Linda Lingle is in California to discuss difficult state budgets at an annual conference.
Lingle is attending the Milken Institute Global Conference through Wednesday. It is being held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills.
She will appear Monday on the panel titled "State of the States: U.S. Governors on Navigating the New Budget Realities." Govs. Jim Doyle of Wisconsin and Arnold Schwarzenegger of California also are to participate.
A Lingle spokesman said no state funds are being used for the trip. She is due back Thursday.
