Emergency workers free man pinned under van at Aliamanu military housing

Honolulu Fire Department and Federal Fire Department rescue teams successfully extricated a man who was pinned under a van at a construction site at Aliamanu Military Housing.

The incident occurred around 8:30 a.m.
It took rescue workers about 30 minutes to stabilize the vehicle and free the man, who was identified as a company worker, according to HFD spokesperson Capt. Earle Kealoha.
The man, believed to be in his early 40s, was transported to a trauma center in critical condition with injuries to his head, face, arms, body and legs, according to Emergency Medical Services spokesperson Bryan Cheplic. He was later upgraded to serious, condition, Cheplic reported.
EMS workers also treated a woman in her late 20s for minor injuries apparently sustained when she was also struck by the vehicle. She was transported to a trauma center in stable condition.
