“The White Snake,” a Beijing opera, or jingju, is being produced in English for the first time by the University of Hawaiçi-Mänoa’s Department of Theatre and Dance. The classic Chinese mythological play about a snake spirit who descends to Earth as a beautiful woman features comedy, drama, song, dance and even battle scenes.
