A six-vehicle collision snarled town-bound traffic on H-1 Freeway for much of the early-morning commute.

The crash happened about 5:30 a.m. in the passing lane near the Military Access/Manager's Drive overpass in Waipahu.
There were no reports of serious injury.
By the time police cleared the freeway, about 6:50, traffic was backed up for miles. Even after that, the residual backup kept traffic at a near standstill for at least an hour.
