YMCA of Honolulu awarded $50K matching grant

Advertiser Staff

The YMCA of Honolulu said that the Clarence T.C. Ching Foundation has awarded a matching grant of $50,000 to its Teen Development Fund.

The grant will support teen programs such as Healthy Together, which is an effort to engage youth in health and wellness opportunities; Club Mid, a program for middle-school students to help them deal with the high school transition; Leadership Unlimited, a leadership training program focusing on service and personal growth; and Rural Youth Crime Prevention Program, a leadership and counseling program to prevent school dropout, gang involvement and drug abuse. The grant will also support other youth-counseling and treatment programs and teen international exchange programs.
The foundation presented the check to the YMCA on Monday.
