Marriott Resorts Hawaii wins local marketing award
Marriott Resorts Hawai‘i will be named “Marketer of the Year” at the annual American Marketing Association Hawai‘i awards luncheon on April 13 at the Hawai‘i Convention Center.
Additional honorees will include Aloha Air Cargo for Best Marketing of a New Product or Service, The Outrigger Duke Kahanamoku Foundation for Best Non-Profit Marketing, and Bank of Hawai‘i for Best E-Marketing.
“A good marketing plan proved to be worth its weight in gold last year,” said AMA Hawai‘i president Frank Haas. “In a year when mere survival was too often the goal for many businesses and organizations, those with sound and well-implemented marketing campaigns emerged from 2009 as some of Hawaii’s top successes stories.”
Marriott Resorts Hawai‘i hit the open road in a high-profile bus tour promoting “aloha” across the continental United States — a trek that benefited not just Marriott but Hawai‘i as a destination — then took the Marriot brand to new Twitterverse heights as part of the viral "Tweet Yourself to Hawai‘i" sweepstakes.
