Japan judo federation to host free clinic, joint practice

All judo athletes are invited to participate in a judo clinic and joint practice sponsored by the All-Japan University Judo Federation.

The event will take place March 6 from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Hawaii Tokai International College at 2241 Kapi'olani Blvd.

The clinic will provide participants an opportunity to train with fellow judoka from Japan under the direction of Minatoya Sensei and clinic head coach Teruyoshi Yamaguchi and women's coach Kazue Nanjo.

Yamaguchi was a world champion in 1967 and 1969. Nanjo was a national champion in 1996, 1998-99.

The clinic is free with a post-practice lunch available for $8. Deadline for application is March 1.

LACROSSE REGISTRATION DEADLINE TOMORROW

Registration for upcoming Aloha Youth Lacrosse season for high school and youth division will close tomorrow

Boys and girls divisions include grades 1-3, 4-6, 7-8 and high school.

New players are welcome.

The Spring lacrosse season starts March 7 at Kapi'olani Park, from noon to 5 p.m.
