Big waves in Isles forecast

A high-surf warning is in effect for north- and west-facing shores of most islands today.

The National Weather Service says the big waves are expected to slowly subside tonight.
North- and west-facing shores of Niihau and Kauai and the north shores of Oahu, Molokai and Maui can expect waves of 20 to 28 feet. Surf on west-facing shores of Oahu and Molokai will be 15 to 20 feet.
A high-surf advisory is in effect for west-facing shores on the Big Island.
