Jail worker stabbed by inmate
Police have opened an attempted murder investigation after a worker at Oahu Community Correctional Center was stabbed yesterday morning.
Police were told the employee, a 52-year-old man, was working at his desk when the suspect, a 45-year-old inmate at the facility, approached from behind and suddenly stabbed the employee several times.
The suspect was subdued by the victim with the help of other witnesses.
The stabbing victim went to the hospital on his own and was determined to be in good condition, police said.
