Guitarists Chris Yeaton and Adam Werner make their Atherton debut tonight with a Hawaiian music concert featuring different guitar styles.

Yeaton, who has toured nationally with slack-key masters Keola Beamer and John Keawe, draws inspiration from traditional and contemporary Hawaiian guitarists to create his own progressive slack-key style. Werner, whose album “Signatures” was nominated for a best-New-Age-album Grammy in 2008, uses unconventional techniques on acoustic steel string and harp guitar. He is also the producer of “Woodsongs: An Acoustic Guitar Collection,” which features 17 previously unreleased guitar tracks from artists that include Yeaton and Keawe.
The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. at Hawaiçi Public Radio’s Atherton Performing Arts Studio, 738 Käheka St. Tickets are $25 general, $20 for HPR members and $15 for students with ID. Tickets will be available at the door. Visit www.hawaiipublicradio.org for more information.
