Federal Fire Department to name inaugural Firefighter of the Year tonight
The Local Federal Firefighters Hawaii Union IAFF F263 will name its first Firefighter of the Year at its first annual awards banquet tonight at the Hyatt Regency Waikiki.
The Federal Fire Department, manned by some 300 personnel, serves all military installations in Hawaii, including all major bases as well as military housing and the NEX.
The winner will be voted on by union members.
Union president Reid Shimabukuro said the winner, who will not be identified until the banquet, was selected by unanimous vote.
