A 22-year-old man who was critically wounded Friday morning in a Waipahu shooting has died and authorities have charged a suspect with second-degree murder.

HPD Maj. Clayton Kau said Saturday night that Chadwick Tadly, 37, been charged with second-degree murder in the case of a 22-year-old man who was shot early Friday morning in an apartment on Leolua Street.

Kau said the unidentified Waipahu shooting victim died Friday night and an autopsy is scheduled.

Authorities also charged Tadly with the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

His bail was set at $1 million and he will appear in District Court on Monday. Hawaii Criminal Justice Data Center records show Tadly as having five convictions.

Honolulu officers arrested two other men the day of the Waipahu shooting.

The arrests were made about 6:43 a.m. Friday, after police received a call from a woman who said someone had been shot in a Leolua Street apartment.

When police arrived, no one answered the door, but when they looked through a screen window officers saw a 22-year-old man lying in a pool of blood on the living room floor.

The officers entered the apartment, where they found Tadly and two other men, ages 17 and 18, who were subsequently arrested on suspicion of second-degree attempted murder.

The 22-year-old victim died at a local hospital Friday night.

The HPD investigation continues.
