Business plan competition set for non-profit groups
Awards ranging from $4,000 to $16,000 along with communications services are being offered under a non-profit organization business plan competition being sponsored by Chaminade University’s Hogan Entrepreneurial Program and American Savings Bank.
The fourth annual competition is open to non-profit organizations planning to start new ventures benefiting society. The goal of the competition is fostering excellence in non-profit work, along with stimulating public interest in the sector’s work.
A deadline of Feb. 5 has been set for entrants to signal their interest in participating by submitting a one-page summary of their proposed venture. The business plans can be for a new non-profit organization, program or for-profit subsidiary that will generate positive social outcomes.
The top business plan will be awarded $16,000, with second place getting $6,0000. Third-place will get $4,000.
There also will be a prize for most compelling that will receive 100 hours of integrated communications services from Loomis-ISC. The awards will be announced on April 21.
Non-profit groups interested in the competition can call 739-4673 with questions.
