Missouri back at Battleship Row
The Battleship Missouri pulled into Pier Foxtrot-5 at Ford Island around 2:30 p.m. today after 12 weeks of repair work.
Shipyard workers started flooding Drydock 4 at around 7 this morning. It then left drydock at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard shortly after noon.
Speaking at a ceremony after the return to Battleship Row will be U.S. Sen. Daniel K. Inouye; Capt. Gregory R. Thomas, commander of Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard; and Vice Adm. (ret.) Robert Kihune, chairman of the USS Missouri Memorial Association.
Following a soft opening in mid-January, the Battleship Missouri Memorial will officially reopen on Jan. 30, a day after the 66th anniversary of the battleship’s launch from the Brooklyn Navy Yard during World War II.
