Saturday's 'Recycling Day' in Waimanalo

Waimanalo Community Recycling Day, sponsored by Hui O Ko olaupoko and Oahu Resource Conservation and Development Council, is set for 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Waimanalo Beach Park.
The following will be accepted at the site: scrap metal, bicycles, appliances, beverage containers, cooking oil, cellular phones, printer cartridges, newspaper, cardboard, tires (passenger tires — limit four per car), plastic bags and hangers (8a-12p only), used eye glasses, hearing aids, all kinds of batteries, telephone books, magazines, usable clothing and household items.
Computers: one per car — residents only. Unlimited laptops accepted.
Unwanted cars — free towing by appointment only; 306-1876
Will not accept: TVs, microwave ovens and motor oil, paints, hazard fluids.
There will be an incandescent light bulb exchange for two CFLs (two per person); and a free roll-off bin service for scrap metal. For more information, 306-1876.
