Clarinetist's show: ‘Performing in Pastel’

Advertiser Staff

“Performing in Pastel,” paintings by Honolulu Symphony clarinetist Norman F. Foster will be exhibited at Gallery on the Pali, starting Sunday.
In a news release Foster said: "When I paint, I am aware that my actions are being captured on paper, recorded in visual form. It’s like I'm performing, but I am the only one in the audience, knowing that others will experience the end result at a later date. This is why I call this show Performing in Pastel.”
Over the past few years, Foster's works have been shown in the Mixed Media Miniatures shows at the Koa Gallery and the Pastel Artists of Hawaii show at Pauahi Tower.
The exhibit at Gallery on the Pali, 2500 Pali Highway, runs through Jan. 28 . Gallery hours: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays, and 1-4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. For additional information, call 595-4047.
