Aloha 'Aina Earth Day will include Christmas tree recycling and job applications for the U.S. Census from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Waimänalo Beach Park.

The recyclers will also accept incandescent light bulbs in exchange for compact fluorescent light bulbs.

Acceptable items to recycle include metal, auto parts, batteries, telephone books, plastic bags, old tires, cell phones, computers, cooking oil and reusable clothing.

Items not accepted are TVs, microwave ovens, motor oil, paints, hazardous fluids and gas tanks.

For curbside pickup, call Kristen Mailheau at 381-7202.

Hui O Ko'olaupoko and the Oahu Resource and Conservation Development Council are sponsoring the event, the first of its kind for Waimänalo.
