Lindquist service Tuesday in Waikiki

Advertiser Staff

A remembrance service for Carl and Rae Deane Lindquist will be held Tuesday at the Elks Club in Waikīkī.

The Lindquists, owners of Hana Coast Realty and active in community affairs, were lost in a Thanksgiving night flash flood near their home in Hāna, Maui.

The gathering, open to the public, will begin with remembrances at 2 p.m.

At 3:30 p.m., a 45-minute service will be conducted by Punahou School classmates of the Lindquists, from the Class of 1952: Jack Keppeler will host and Kit Smith will lead the service.

Entertainer Eddie Kamae will perform during the service and afterward. He was a longtime friend of the Lindquists, who were ardent supporters of Hawaiian music preservation.

A lament will be chanted by Kaupena Wong.

As the service ends, pua melia (yellow plumeria blossoms) will be scattered on Waikīkī waters.
