‘Kau Kau’ all about local food
Foodies can head to Borders at Pearlridge today while author Arnold Hiura signs “Kau Kau: Cuisine and Culture in the Hawaiian Islands,” a coffee table book that explores local food through stories, recipes, tips and photographs. Hiura interviewed chefs and farmers for the book and collected more than 70 recipes that range from plantation classics to today’s “Hawai'i Regional Cuisine.”
Hiura will be at the bookstore from 1 to 2 p.m. today, and will also sign books next Saturday from 11 a.m. to noon at Borders in Windward Mall and 2 to 3 p.m. at Borders at Waikele.
