Defending state champion Punahou and unbeaten Kailua have been awarded the top seeds for this week’s JN Automotive Group/Hawai‘i High School Athletic Association Girls Soccer State Championships.

Punahou (10-1-0), the Interscholastic League of Honolulu winner, is the top seed in Division I and O‘ahu Interscholatic Association White champion Kailua (12-0-0) is the top seed in Division II. Matches will be played Wednesday through Saturday at the Waipi‘o Peninsula Soccer Complex.
In the Division I bracket, OIA Red champion Mililani (15-0-0) is seeded second. Maui Interscholastic League champion Baldwin (13-0-1) is seeded third and Big Island Interscholastic Federation champion Hilo (12-0-2) is No. 4.
All seeded teams receive a first-round bye and begin play in Thursday’s quarterfinals. First-round matches start Wednesday.

In the Division II bracket, Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation champion and last year’s runner-up, Kapa‘a, drew the second seed. Defending Division II state champion and ILH winner Pac-Five (4-6-2) is the third seed and BIIF champion Hawai‘i Prep (13-0-1) is No. 4.
The Division II championship game is Saturday at 5 p.m., followed by the Division I final.
