The Hawaiian music Grammy award winner is “Masters of Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar, Volume 2,” announced shortly before noon today at the 52nd annual Grammy Awards pre-telecast ceremony in Los Angeles.
The CD is a compilation of slack key guitar and vocals by various artists. Daniel Ho, who co-produced the compilation with George Kahumoku, Paul Konwiser and Wayne Wong and also performed on the CD, has been a part of the five of the six Grammys for Hawaiian music since the award was first given out in 2005.
Ho was also nominated this year for “He Nani” with Tia Carrere, whom he teamed with to win the 2009 Hawaiian music Grammy for “ ”Ikena.”
Also nominated this year were Amy Hänaiali‘i for her “Friends & Family of Hawaiçi” CD, and Ho‘okena for “Nani Mau Loa: Everlasting Beauty.”
Hanaiali‘i and her brother, Eric Gilliom, will be performing on the Grammys live telecast tonight with Jaime Foxx.
