Friends of the Library annual book sale to be held this month

The Friends of the Library of the State of Hawaii will present its annual benefit book sale June 19-June 27, with a special members-only preview night on June 18.

Available will be rare and out-of-print Hawaiiana, cookbooks, romance novels and other fiction, foreign language books (especially Japanese, Korean and French fare), histories and biographies, religious works, children's books and books on travel, plants, home decor and garden as well as mysteries and science fiction.

The sale will once again be held in the McKinley High School cafeteria.

Those who join prior to or on the night of the preview from 5-9 p.m. June 18 will get a first look at the more than 10,000 volumes available. Membership is $25 per year; $15 for students, seniors, military; a lifetime member category is also offered.

Hours on other days are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. June 19, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. June 20, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. June 21-24, aa a.m. to 8 p.m. June 25, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. June 26 and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 27.
