Best team I have ever been apart of

Aloha,

I have been dreading to write this last blog for a long time now. Our season has come to an end and my career has come to an end. People keep telling me I should be thankful for making it this far, and I am, but it is only my competitive nature to want to win it all. We have ended so many other teams season's in the past month and this time it was our turn.

I am so grateful for having the ability to play Division I softball and be a collegiate athlete, but more importantly I am so grateful for all the people I have met.

First and foremost I am so thankful for all of the opportunities Coach Bob and the rest of the coaching staff have given me throughout the last four years. I was a walk-on my freshman year and one of the things Coach Bob always did for me was keep his word on everything he promised me, and I am very grateful for that.

Coach Dee, Coach Naks, Coach Lans, and Coach Dickie have helped me get through so much I will be forever grateful to them as well. Eric, our trainer, has taken care of me through all my injuries and illnesses, and was always there for me when I needed to vent.

All of my teammates throughout the last four years have each individually touched my heart and soul and I will never forget any of them. Lastly, my fellow seniors, we have gone through a lot together and we have been there for one another through the best and toughest of times and I will love them forever.

As far as this season goes, it was by far the best team I have ever been apart of. Not just because we were good and we broke all kinds of records, but because of the type of team we were. We were each other's family, we gelled as a team better than any other team I have played with, and that is a lot of teams. We relied on one another, and when someone was down, the others picked them up. We were resilient we came back when we were down, and when it seemed like all odds were against us.

We have proven so much to ourselves and to the rest of the world, that Hawaii softball is one of the top teams in the nation. I am proud to be apart of this program and building its success. I will always be a Rainbow Wahine!

Thank you to everyone who has kept up with my blog and supported our team throughout this season.

Aloha,
