Power restored to lower Kalihi
Power has been restored to about 2,500 customers in the lower Kalihi area after electricity was knocked out Tuesday afternoon.
The outage was reported at 2:42 p.m. and affected businesses and residents in the Nimitz Highway, Dillingham, Sand Island and Iwilei areas, said Darren Pai, Hawaiian Electric Co. spokesman. Power was restored at about 3:30 p.m., Pai said.
The cause of the outage is under investigation, although Pai said it may be wind-related.
