Piikoi Street in Makaki was re-opened to traffic around 2:30 p.m. today but Hawaiian Electric Co. crews were still working to replace the uprooted utility pole that had forced the closure of Piikoi beginning at 5 a.m., HECO officials said this afternoon.

Wind may have uprooted the pole, HECO spokesman Darren Pai said, but the exact cause was still being determined.
At 3:45 p.m., HECO crews were still working to replace the pole, Pai said.
