Maintenance work at Honolulu International Airport to increase air traffic

Advertiser Staff

The state Department of Transportation will be doing airfield maintenance work at the Honolulu International Airport and is warning residents of increased aircraft traffic over the Kalihi to Downtown Honolulu area.

Runway 8R (Reef Runway) will be closed Monday and Tuesday from 7 to 10:30 a.m.
The runway will also be closed from March 28 through April 2 from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. for airfield maintenance work.
As a result of the work, flight patterns for departing aircraft will be modified, resulting in the increased air traffic.
