FUN O' THE IRISH

St. Patrick's Day is just a few days away, and, as always, it'll be a big day for parties, parades and celebrations. Here's a short list of St. Paddy happenings. All of these events are happening Wednesday:

• St. Patrick's Day Chinatown Block Party (Murphy's Bar & Grill, 2 Merchant St., 531-0422, 5:30 p.m.): A massive gathering of people out for a pint of Irish beer or a plate of corned beef and cabbage courtesy of one of Honolulu's premiere Irish haunts.

• St. Patrick's Day on the Harbor (Aloha Tower Marketplace, 1 Aloha Tower Drive, 528-5700, 5 p.m. ): The Tower shops get together to throw a big Irish-style celebration .

• Waikíkí St. Patrick's Day Parade (along Kaläkaua Avenue, 12-1:30 p.m. ): The annual parade, organized by the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick, marches down Kaläkaua Avenue and includes traditional bagpipers. The parade starts at Kaläkaua Avenue and Saratoga Road and ends at Kapi'olani Park.

EAT MORE, PAY LESS AT V LOUNGE

V Lounge (1344 Kona St., 955-2640), the winner of the Honolulu Advertiser's search for the island's best pizza, is now offering a buy-one-get-one-half-off deal every Tuesday on all its Naples-style wood-fired pizzas.

'PROJECT RUNWAY' FANS, UNITE!

The competition is heating up on "Project Runway," and Hawaii Red magazine is into the drama. The magazine will host fans of the show at 7 p.m. at Apartment3 (1750 Kaläkaua Ave., 955-9300) every Thursday for a viewing party that will include a sound-off session about the designs and the contestants.

WAR STORIES

Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg team up again ("Band of Brothers") for HBO's 10-part miniseries "The Pacific," which premieres on HBO at 6 p.m. Sunday.

GREEN MOVEMENT

The University of Hawaii's dance department is staging a "Dancing Green" performance with an eco-awareness theme (8 tonight and Saturday, 2 p.m. Sunday, Kennedy Theatre, $5-$20, www.etickethawaii.com).

REBEL YELL

California-based reggae band Rebelution plays with local band Ooklah the Moc.

OFFICER TIG'S IN TOWN

Standup comic Tig Notaro will perform at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Pipeline Café ($20 general, $40 VIP, 877-714-7668, www.groovetickets.com). Notaro is best known as Officer Tig on "The Sarah Silverman Program."

MAUI RULES

Kumu Kahua Theatre's "Maui the Demigod," an adaptation of Steven Goldsberry's "Maui the Demigod: An Epic Novel of Mythical Hawai'i," opens at 8 p.m. Thursday and runs through April 18 (8 p.m. Thursdays-Saturdays, 2 p.m. Sundays, $5-$16, 536-4441).
