RETROSPECTIVE ON UB40

UB40 frontman Ali Campbell is returning to the Islands this weekend with his band to perform a full set of UB40 classics.

Campbell was the lead singer for the British pop reggae band UB40 for more than 30 years before leaving in 2008. Over the three decades that Campbell was with the band, UB40 had more than 50 hit singles and sold more than 70 million albums.

For his Honolulu show, Campbell will perform all the big UB40 hits, including "Red Red Wine," "Here I Am," "The Way You Do the Things You Do" and "Kingston Town," with his own 14-piece reggae band. New Zealand's Three Houses Down will also perform, along with local talents Fiji, The Manao Company and Siaosi.

TWEEPS UNITE

On Thursday, cities all over the world will host a Twitter Festival, or "Twestival," where tweeps can gather, mingle and of course network. The Honolulu Twestival is at 5:30 p.m. at Oceans 808 ($20 at the door, follow @hitwestival for info).

THE SOUND OF MUSIC

The 90th annual Kamehameha Schools' Song Contest will be aired live at 6:30 p.m. today on KGMB9 (HD channel 1009). The contest will follow a short pre-show program.

TWIST AND 'SHOUT'
