Maryknoll School has selected Galen Ho for its 2010 Charles Kekumano Noblesse Oblige Service award for his work in the community, including establishing a scholarship program at the school.

Ho, a 1963 Maryknoll School graduate, will be recognized at a dinner on April 25 at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. The award is given to those who have shown a devotion to the service of others and are living examples of Maryknoll’s motto: “To whom much is given, much is expected.”
It is named in memory of Monsignor Charles Kekumano. In the past the award wad given to Dr. Livingston Wong, Cha and Jack Thompson, Dr. Jorge Camara, Wally Yonamine, and former Gov. George Ariyoshi.
Ho is being recognized for establishing a scholarship with his wife, also a Maryknoll graduate, Patricia Ching HO. The Ho-Ching scholarship is given each year to students of good academic standing who have a financial need and have demonstrated leadership and service to the community.
Ho also has helped many other groups, including the University of Hawaiçi, College of Engineering, Saint Louis School, Bishop Museum, Havaiki Theater, Honolulu Academy of Arts, First Tees-Havaiki and the FIRST Hawaii Regional Robotics.
