2 men shot in Kalihi

Advertiser Staff

Honolulu police say two men were shot early this morning in Kalihi and that they are seeking two suspects, one of them a juvenile.

Police Maj. Janna Mizuo said officers responded to a home at 1:30 a.m. on a report of gunshots.
Mizuo said officers found two injured men. She said a 19-year-old was taken to an area hospital in serious condition while a 21-year-old was treated at the scene.
Bryan Cheplic of the city's Emergency Services Department said paramedics were dispatched to a unit at the Kalihi Valley Homes public housing complex on Kamehameha IV Road at 1:45 a.m.
He said the man taken to a trauma center had injuries consistent with those caused by shotgun pellets. Cheplic said he had no record of a second man being treated but that it was possible.
Mizuo said police are seeking two male suspects, the first between the ages of 18 and 20 and the second a juvenile.
Both were described as being of medium build and wearing long-sleeved black T-shirts. The older male wore black shorts, the younger wore brown shorts.
More information on the shooting will be posted as it is obtained.
