Two-time defending state champion Punahou earned the top seed for this week's Local Motion/HHSAA State Water Polo Championship.

The Buffanblu (8-0), the Interscholastic League of Honolulu champion, receive a first-round bye, along with second-seeded and O'ahu Interscholastic Association champion Kahuku (12-1), Big Island Interscholastic champion and No. 3 Kamehameha-Hawai'i (12-0), and Maui Interscholastic League champion and No. 4 Lahainaluna (7-0).

First-round play begins Wednesday at the Veterans' Memorial Aquatic Center at Patsy T. Mink Central O'ahu Regional Park. The championship game is Saturday at 3 p.m.
