Shaun Kort's two out RBI single in the top of the 12th lifted Nevada past Hawai'i, 8-7, today to earn the Wolf Pack a split of the four-game Western Athletic Conference series before 1,102 at Les Murakami Stadium.

Hawai'i threatened in the bottom of the 12th. Collin Bennett led off with a single to center off Tyler Graham. Sean Montplaisir bunted to the catcher, who threw to first and first baseman Kort fired to second to get Bennett for the double play. Kevin Macdonald walked, but Matt Roquemore grounded out to first to end the game.

Garrett Yrigoyen led off with a single to center off Gallagher before Michael Turay struck out. Yrigoyen took second on Kevin Rodland's single to left. After Waylen Sing Chow lined out to left, Kort singled to left to score Yrigoyen with the go-ahead run. Nick Melino flied out to deep right-center on a nice catch by right fielder Matt Roquemore.

Tyler Graham (3-4) pitched 1 1/3 scoreless innings of relief for the Wolf Pack (23-18-1 overall, 5-6-1 WAC)

Zach Gallagher (3-4) allowed a run in three innings of relief for UH (23-22, 6-10).

Nevada tied it in the top of the ninth against Lenny Linsky when Brian Barnett reached on a one out infield single. An out later, he advanced to second on catcher's indifference before Nick Leid walked. Garrett Yrigoyen singled to left to score Barnett to tie the game at 7.

Hawai'i took the lead for the first time in the seventh. Jeffrey Van Doornum walked with one out and scored on David Freitas' double to left to tie the game at 6. Greg Garcia's line single to center scored Freitas to put UH ahead, 7-6. Keplinger was pulled for Jesse Rasner, who got the last two outs of the inning.

The Wolf Pack took a 1-0 lead in the first. Kevin Rodland led off with a single, stole second when Westley Moss struck out, went to third on Shaun Kort's single and scored on Nick Melino's double to right.

Nevada increased its lead to 2-0 on Carlos Escobar Jr.'s two out solo home run in the second inning.

Hawai'i struck for two in the second. David Freitas led off with a walk and scored on Greg Garcia's triple off the center field wall. Collin Bennett's RBI single tied the game at 2.

Nevada regained the lead in the third. Melino singled and Brian Barnett flared a single to right. Melino took third on the play when right fielder Matt Roquemore bobbled the ball. Cullen Mahoney followed with a sacrifice fly to left.

The Rainbows tied it in the fourth. Freitas led off with a double and took third when Garcia reached on a bunt single. A wild pitch scored Freitas to tie the game at 3, as Garcia went to second.

Once again, Nevada regained the lead on back-to-back two out doubles from Melino and Barnett in the fifth.

Hawai'i tied it again. Kolten Wong led off the fifth by getting hit by a Beau Witsoe pitch. After Nevada asked to have the mound maintenanced, Rickey Denham was brought in for Witsoe. Wong stole second and took third on Pi'ikea Kitamura's sacrifice and scored on Van Doorum's double to right to tie the game at 4.

The Wolf Pack took the lead back with two outs in the sixth. Escorbar walked and scored on Rodland's double to left. Rodland took third on the play on Little's throwing error after he backed up a high throw to the plate and then threw to wild to second.

Josh Slaats, who went two-plus innings Friday, came for Little. Pinch hitter Waylen Sing Chow's single off Slaats' glove scored Rodland to make it 6-4.

Sing Chow went to second on Kort's single and Melino was hit by a pitch to load the bases. After a 1-0 count on Barnett, Slaats was pulled for the left-handed Blair Walters. Barnett flied out to center to end the inning.

Hawai'i pulled to 6-5 in the sixth. Denham walked Bennett to start the sixth. Mat Keplinger replaced Denham. Bennett took second on Montplaisir's sacrifice and scored on Kevin Macdonald's single. Matt Roquemore reached on a fielder's choice grounder to third that forced Macdonald at second.
