Mother's Day is coming up Sunday, and we're here for you: Be different and take your mom to the free synchronized swimming show, 5:30 p.m. Sunday at the Princess Ka'iulani Hotel, where they promise a "real-live mermaid."

Spend $50 (maybe on a Mother's Day gift?) at certain Ward Centers shops on Saturday and receive a free hydrangea for her.

And Moonbow Tropics, the upscale resortwear shop at Outrigger on the Reef, is having an all-day party on Saturday. The first 100 people receive free gifts, there are jewelry discounts and more. Mom might like that.

The Women's Fund of Hawai'i supports organizations that help women and girls become safe, financially secure and empowered.
