Rainbow Wahine Eggens on MPSF water polo first team

University of Hawaii sophomore attacker Monika Eggens was named to the all-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation first team and three other Rainbow Wahine received honors as the conference announced its award winners today.

UH juniors, Carmen Eggens and Leonie Van Der Molen, were named to the second team and freshman Amarens Genee was named to the all-freshman team.

Monika Eggens led the MPSF in scoring, averaging 2.30 goals per game and totaling 53 goals in 23 games. She also was named to the MPSF All-Tournament team, finishing the tournament third in goals scored with seven.

Van Der Molen finished eighth in the conference in scoring, despite missing the final four games due to injury.

Carmen Eggens finished 10th in scoring, averaging 1.61 goals per game.

Genee finished the season strong with five goals in three games at the MPSF Tournament. Genee's all-freshman team honor gives UH a player on the all-freshman team for the sixth straight year.

The MPSF Player of the Year went to USC's goalkeeper Tumua Anae, while the Newcomer of the Year went to USC's Patricia Jancso and the Coach of the Year went to USC's Jovan Vavic.
