President Obama and his wife, Michelle, went out for dinner on a pleasant evening in Washington.

The first couple arrived yesterday at Komi restaurant, near DuPont Circle, surprising diners and passers-by who cheered and took photos. The restaurant serves mainly Greek and Mediterranean dishes.

The Obamas will see little of each other this weekend. The first lady is the commencement speaker today at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. The president tomorrow will deliver the commencement address at Hampton University in Hampton, Va.

ROCKER DONATES STORE SALES TO FLOOD RELIEF

Jack White and his staff at Third Man Records are lending a hand to Nashville's flood victims.

White said yesterday that profits from today's sales at his downtown record store will go to flood relief.

White, a member of The White Stripes and The Dead Weather and a resident of nearby Franklin, and employees of Third Man will join Hands On Nashville on Monday to aid in the cleanup.

At least 31 people were killed in three states, including 20 in Tennessee, when storms dropped record amounts of rain.

BEACH CONCERT STILL ON DESPITE OIL SPILL

A beachfront music festival on the Gulf Shores of Alabama is going ahead with a three-day concert despite the massive oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

Organizers are hoping the event will attract almost 100,000 people the weekend of May 14-16. They are also organizing cleanup volunteers and holding a couple of fundraising shows.

Headliners at the first-ever large-scale festival here include Trey Anastasio, the Zac Brown Band, John Legend and the Black Crowes. Organizers plan to construct two stages on the beach.

CONNERY, WIFE FACE REAL ESTATE PROBE

A Spanish news network says former "James Bond" star Sean Connery will be questioned over a real estate deal.

Cadena Ser and other media outlets say Connery and his wife, Micheline Roquebrune, will be called to a court in coastal Marbella, Spain, over matters related to the sale of an area estate.

For 20 years Connery vacationed at his lavish property, Malibu, before selling it in 1998. After the sale, a block of 70 apartments was built on the spot.

2 CHARGED WITH SELLING FAKE SHOW TICKETS

Two men face charges of scamming fans of Lady Gaga and Adam Lambert by selling tickets for a bogus concert in West Virginia.

Martinsburg police say 45-year-old Sherman Luke Loy and 45-year-old Dean R. DeSana turned themselves in separately today and were released on bond.

Each was charged with one count of obtaining money by false pretenses. Loy's lawyer says the tickets started at $100.

According to a criminal complaint, the men claimed the concert would be held April 24 at a park near Harpers Ferry. The concert never happened.

SINGER ON ANTIBIOTICS FOR DOG BITE

The father of singer Vanessa Carlton said his daughter was bitten by a pit bull while jogging near his northeastern Pennsylvania home.

Ed Carlton said his daughter is being treated with antibiotics following the May 2 attack in Shohola, about 100 miles north of Philadelphia.
