Mililani, Kalani awarded top seeds

The Mililani and Kalani softball teams earned the top seeds for this week's DataHouse/HHSAA State Championships.

Defending champion Mililani (12-3), the O'ahu Interscholastic Association champion, is the top seed in Division I. Interscholastic League of Honolulu champion Mid-Pacific (13-2) is seeded second, Big Island Interscholastic Federation champion Waiākea (12-0) is seeded third and Maui Interscholastic League champion Baldwin (13-2) is fourth. All seeded teams received first-round byes.

First-round games are tomorrow at Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium. The title game is Friday at 7 p.m.

In Division II, OIA White champion Kalani (13-1) is seeded first. Kaua'i Interscholastic Federation champion Waimea is seeded second, MIL champion Hāna (10-2) is third and BIIF champion Konawaena (6-5) is fourth. All seeded teams received first-round byes.

Defending champion Kaua'i plays Moloka'i in tomorrow's first round at Patsy T. Mink Central O'ahu Regional Park. The championship game is Friday at 5 p.m. at Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium.
