Hilo High, Highlands Intermediate advance in underwater robotics competition

Advertiser Staff

Hilo High School and Highlands Intermediate placed first and second, respectively, in an underwater robotics competition held today at the University of Hawai'i at Hilo Student Life Center Pool.

The two schools automatically advance to an international competition to be held at UH Hilo in June.

Today's contest followed an underwater volcanoes theme and competing teams used remotely operated vehicles that they designed and built to navigate a mock undersea terrain.
