Hawaii State Open champ Mueller shoots 61 in eGolf Tour event

Reigning Hawai'i State Open and former Hawai'i Pearl Open champ Jesse Mueller fired an 11-under-par 61 in the opening round of the eGolf tour's Grand Harbor Open today at the Golf Club at Star Fort in Greenwood, S.C. He leads by four shots.

Moanalua alum Tadd Fujikawa shot 4-under 67 on the Patriot Golf Club course and is tied for 17th.

Mueller's round included a hole-in-one at the par-3 seventh and a bogey two holes later. He also had 10 birdies and six pars.

The Arizona pro won the Hawai'i State Open — by 10 shots — and Pearl Open last year. He was seventh at Pearl this year. This is his first eGolf event.

Fujikawa, 19, had five birdies and a bogey. He is making his sixth eGolf start and is 26th on the money list with about $15,000.

Fujikawa finished in the top 40 his first four events, before withdrawing with an injury last month. He qualified for the Nationwide Tour last week, but missed the cut.
