Comedian Drew Carey, wearing a loud black-and-white checkered blazer, marched into City Hall in his hometown of Cleveland yesterday and told council members what they're doing wrong.

Respectfully, of course.

"I don't envy anybody at this table," Carey said during the three-hour-long discussion. "I know what it's like to try and change something."

"The Price is Right" host, who grew up in Cleveland, was invited to meet with City Council members to discuss his ideas for economic reform in the struggling city, which has been bleeding revenue and people for decades.

As council members listened warily, Carey urged the city to privatize government-owned businesses, examine its zoning laws and become more business-friendly.

SIR PAUL WILL BE SEEN ON SCREEN BY ALL

Sir Paul McCartney is allowing his concert in Mexico City to be viewed for free on a giant movie screen.

Mexican Culture Secretary Elena Zepeda said the screen will be set up tonight at a plaza in the capital's Chapultapec park. She said it's the former Beatle's gift to Mexico City residents.

Zepeda said the plaza can hold 10,000 people.

McCartney scheduled Mexico City shows for yesterday and today as part of his "Up and Coming Tour."

FINANCIAL ADVISER TO THE STARS ARRESTED

Prosecutors yesterday charged a financial adviser who has worked for Wesley Snipes, Sylvester Stallone and Martin Scorsese with stealing $30 million from clients.

Kenneth Starr, 66, of Manhattan was ordered held without bail on charges of wire fraud, investment adviser fraud and money laundering after a prosecutor said Starr hid behind coats in a closet at his home when agents came to arrest him, forcing them to yank him out by the collar.

MOTHERHOOD'S NEXT FOR R&B SINGER KEYS

Alicia Keys is in a motherhood state of mind: She's pregnant with her first child.

The Grammy Award-winning R&B singer has been dating producer Swizz Beatz, who has written hits for Beyonce, Jay-Z and others. They're engaged to be married at a private ceremony this year.

Representatives for the couple confirmed the news last night. Keys last year teamed up with Jay-Z for a hit song about New York called "Empire State of Mind."

BULLOCK TO ATTEND MTV MOVIE AWARDS

Sandra Bullock is coming to the MTV Movie Awards.

The network says the 45-year-old actress will attend the June 6 ceremony to accept the MTV Generation Award, its highest honor.

The Oscar winner, who has kept a low profile since her public split from husband Jesse James, is the first woman to receive the award. Past recipients include Tom Cruise, Ben Stiller, Adam Sandler, Mike Myers and Jim Carrey.

Hosted by Aziz Ansari, the MTV Movie Awards will be broadcast live from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Los Angeles.
