His stryker unit has returned to Ft Lewis from OIF and last I heard they haven't assassinated Watada yet.

Ewa: As to firing the M2, all fam firing and demo firing was done before going in combat. Once we stepped foot in country, it was serious and the rules of engagement takes effect.

Did you see an A-gunner with the prince in the news shot. Its a crew served weapon right? Of course not, it was staged for the prince. When we fired the M2 there was an A-gunner on a short belt plus range people to make sure we didn't elevate beyond the pegs and put an errant round in a civilian's head 3-4 miles down range.

We obviously think differently on Watada. But I have had too many good Americans die around me in VN and I have zero tolerance for chicken hawks and neverbeens who bang drums from an arm chair and put down people serving in the armed forces on active duty.

Aloha

I didnt see any A Gunner. But that didnt surprise me one bit. We enever had A Gunners on our trucks, just the gunner.

we would always drive down to this FOB to test fire/fam fire our weapons. Obviously everyone in the PLT got to fire each and every weapon system enough times to make it boring.

I hardly doubt Harry was firing at any Taliban with that 50cal. I remember my RTO who wanted his picture taken while shooting my 9mm, since he didnt get to carry one. So Im guessing that 50cal incident was staged.

But overall at least he went to Afghanistan, its too bad his tour was cut short. Im sure he is a fine 2LT "cherry".
