FEBRUARY 6
The late comic hula dancer Hilo Hattie performed with bandleader Harry Owens on his television show and was a fixture in nightclubs at the Hilton Hawaiian Village and the Halekulani Hotel. Born Clarissa "Clara" Haili, she got her stage name from her signature song, "When Hilo Hattie does the Hilo Hop."
