This is my husband, Staff Sgt. Julian A. Zamarripa Jr. He is with Company C, 1st Battalion, 27th Infantry Regiment out of Schofield Barracks. This is his second tour of duty in Iraq. We are very proud of him and wish him a speedy return to his loved ones. God bless all our wonderful Wolfhounds.

Hi, Sweetie, stay safe and God bless; you’re always in my thoughts. Lita and I miss and love you very much.

Spc. Kirk Zakarzewski helps out the Rescue Squad when he is at home.

By the Zakarzewski family

Spc. Kirk J. Zakarzewski did his training in Fort Sill, Okla., and Fort Sam Houston, Texas. From there he was stationed to Fort Carson, Colo., where he was attached to a Mech Unit attached to Fort Hood, Texas.

Prior to his deployment he was attached to Schofield Barracks from which he has been deployed and is with the 225th Forward Support Battalion in Iraq as a Combat Medical Specialist. He also drives an ambulance for his unit.

We as a family miss him very much. We are so proud of him, stand behind him and all his beliefs. He loves being a medic; it's his life. When he is home, he's at the Rescue Squad helping all the time.

He just loves to help people.

He was home for Christmas of 2003. We enjoyed every minute of him. He has our thoughts and prayers. The same goes to all the soldiers that are in Iraq and all around the world.

We know they have a long hard road ahead of them and respect and honor their every move. We thank them all for the protection that they give and courage that they have.

May God be with them, and bring them all home safely to us.

Our words to Kirk are always: be safe, come home, we love you.

Love, Mom, Dad & Tracie

Susan and Julian Zamarripa
By Susan Zamarripa

This is my soldier, Staff Sgt. Julian Zamarripa Jr. with the 25th Infantry Division (Light)'s Company C, 1st Battalion, 27th Infantry Regiment out of Schofield Barracks. He is from San Antonio originally. This is his second time being in Iraq and we are very proud of him and what he is accomplishing over there. His wife, Susan, and son, Robert, along with the rest of his family send their love and prayers and support.

We await the day when he can return home to those who love and miss him, along with the rest of our Wolfhound family.

God bless and thank you, Julian, for keeping us all safe.

If you're stationed in Hawai'i or are from Hawai'i and stationed elsewhere, and have recreational snapshots from interesting places while on deployments around the world, we'd love to share them with readers. Send pictures (high resolution jpgs) to: alohatroops@honoluluadvertiser.com.
